Project: 1740

server: 134.139.127.31:8080;
project: 1740, run 0, clone 48, generation 0

This WU was completed correctly but it is configured incorrectly on the server. Please fix it.

I'm on an old/slow computer with a dialup modem, so I can only run v5.04 and I configure it for SmallWU. The problem may be that the WU is not Small but it was assigned anyway or it may be that the upload limit that is set is incorrect. I was unable to upload it.

Code: Select all

[20:24:50] - Error: Length of work/wuresults_03.dat (6370040) exceeds packet limit set (5241856)
[20:24:50] Could not transmit unit 03 to Collection server; keeping in queue.
[20:24:50] + Sent 0 of 1 completed units to the server
I do know how to correct this error (qfix) but I shouldn't have to do that. I'd appreciate it if the project owner would configure his server correctly to support those of us who are unable to join the V6 mainstream (or is it the BigWu mainstream) and who still wish to contribute.

Hello gwildperson,

Thanks for reporting this. I've reported the issue to the project owner, esorin, and have also asked him to make sure the protein is mentioned in the psummary pages and the project descriptions.

I think it's possible that in this case, you might have been assigned a unit not yet released to the general Folding donor base. Since most beta testers fold on big, powerful machines and don't set WU size to small, it's all too easy for us to overlook issues like this - Thank you for noticing and reporting something we might otherwise have missed entirely.

Edited in later: Dr. Sorin is looking into the sizing problem you mentioned and is proceeding to have this WU added to the appropriate psummary page. A description of this Alzheimers-related project, the first in a new series, is now available on the project descriptions page.

I wonder, is this a problem or normal behaviour?
