Re: FahSpy (monitoring tool)

Post by MarkJohnson »

I'm having trouble getting this to work in Ubuntu 9.04 Linux. I've had it working in the past just fine, but now it will run once with a whole bunch of errors, but won't startup a second time and I need to reinstall and resetup everytime I reboot.

Here's the errors I get:

Re: FahSpy (monitoring tool)

I've been using this for a while, but today FAHSpy isn't recognising anything, all the units are coming up as project 0, worth 0 points. I've tried updating the database, deleting the projects html file and even though it downloaded a new one I'm still just seeing project 0. All my PC's are still there and the completion times are being estimated correctly. :? Any ideas?

Thanks.

Pete there is probably a problem with the summary file format, so expect to have to update your fahspy copy. Not sure, but there been reports about this, and requests from the 3rd party people to get advance notice.

Thanks, had a feeling the problem was along those lines. At first, just the 6316's went to 0, the others followed shortly after.

Is fahspy still being actively supported? Their domain seems to have been taken over by domain search squatters.

Hi guys.

The program is supported, but the author very little time.
There are two news:
1) New Web site: http://fahspy.org/, yet only in English.
2) The new version 2.0.0 released recently.

Thanks for the update, however at http://fahspy.org/index.html the link for v2.0.0 refers back to the index page instead of the file.

Just a little bug I've noticed, this was also present in the last version. When a WU is completed but not sent to the server FAHSpy will continue to report that WU as the one in progress. Even when the unit does get sent back to the server it will continue reporting that WU. For example, I noticed a P10000 on an AMD 4200+ that is being reported as 27ppd, in actual fact the machine is running a P5113 and the P10000 was sent to the server many hours ago. Even restarting FAHSpy will not clear it, I have to wait till the P5113 is finished and sent before it'll report correctly again.

Strange thing is, this doesn't happen every time , hard to put a figure on it but it does happen frequently enough for me to report it.

I hope this behavior was fixed in 2.0.1 version. If not, please copy FAHlog.txt file and send me via email when it will happen again.
Thanks.

I just felt like I'd throw in a +1 for this app, I've been using it for months and never had a problem, so tip of the cap to Angel999.
