Re: 192.0.2.1 and 0.0.0.0 cannot assign a work server cycle
Hi there, I am having a similar issue. I just purchased a Dell T3600 and put in a MSI Radeon HD 7850 to serve as my primary GPU with the ATI/Dell (?) FirePro 2270 in the computer too in the hopes of using both GPUs to fold. I have three folding slots with two of them running and the third one just sitting at ready.
OI am able to access the assignment folder. If someone could please assist me, I would be really grateful. It's a shame to have it just sit there not being able to get anything.

Welcome to the folding forum.
Your FirePro 2270 is too old and does not support double precision calculations, so it will not be assigned work. The last GPU projects that did not require DP ended sometime last year.
Your Radeon 7850 is still supported, so the slot for it should be getting assignments along with your CPU.

We need to confirm that you have OpenCL drivers associated with the video drivers for your Radeon 7850. The easiest way to give us the information we need is to post the first couple of pages of the log in the FAH Data folder (see below). Otherwise, find the required OpenCL drivers for your OS and install them.

I guess that the two working slots are a CPU one, and a GPU one for the HD 7850 ... the one sitting Ready is the one for the FirePro 2270 which is way too old to be supported.oshura wrote:Hi there, I am having a similar issue. Seems to be the place for this question!
Radeon GeForce 9500 GT now too old?

Welcome to the F@H Forum ZepOz,
Please note that your GPU, GeForce 9500 GT (there's no Radeon as it's an AMD Brand, not a Nvidia brand) doesn't support OpenCL 1.2 and Double Precision: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/g ... 0-gt.c3373
Hence it can't fold
However, you can still fold on your CPU

Re: 192.0.2.1 and 0.0.0.0 cannot assign a work server cycle
Thanks for the update. Pity about the GPU, but there you go. I'll keep my i7 CPUs running nevertheless. Every bit helps.
As an aside, there must be dozens of older models of GPUs now not qualified of which there could be millions probably sitting fairly idle that could nevertheless be employed doing some WU's somehow. Probably still a lot more powerful than plain CPUs. Any chance of some sort pf "lower spec" folding engine for the older, lower-spec GPUs?

Re: 192.0.2.1 and 0.0.0.0 cannot assign a work server cycle
The previous model GPUs would work on FahCore_21 but the Projects that use them finished up late last year/early this year. Hence F@H doesn't support them.ZepOz wrote:...As an aside, there must be dozens of older models of GPUs now not qualified of which there could be millions probably sitting fairly idle that could nevertheless be employed doing some WU's somehow. The Project determines which FahCore to use. Generally speaking, each FahCore has different scientific capabilities and features. Thus, if researchers need feature X, they will use FahCore X. In this case, all COVID-19 projects are FahCore_22 (Modern GPUs) or FahCore_a7 (Several CPUs).

Re: 192.0.2.1 and 0.0.0.0 cannot assign a work server cycle
Hi, Bruce, I still have this issue from my last time asking in this forum.bruce wrote:This is a misleading report, but the fact is, your system is not configured correctly. Please post the first few pages of FAH's log.
The Assignment server will be found at 65.254.110.245 assign1.foldingathome.org which will assign a work server. Can you open http://assign1.foldingathome.org in your browser?
Your A6-3420M supports 4 threads which will be used by FAH once a WU is properly assigned. Unfortunately your GPUs are no longer supported.
However, I had check the connection to assign1.foldingathome.org in my browser. But, still my GPU cannot access to the server. Still downloading and the project show '0'.
My GPU is GTX 1650 4Gb, I pause it at the moment.
If you have any suggestion how to overcome it, it would much much appreciate it.
Thanks and warm regards,
GH

Posting your log would significant increase the likelihood of a diagnosis .. until.then any assistance will simply be guesswork .. a gtx 1650 should be able to fold so likely to be a configuration glitch or driver issue tbh

Re: 192.0.2.1 and 0.0.0.0 cannot assign a work server cycle
OK. I probably shouldn't guess but insist that you do post the log.
192.0.2.1 means that you have a GPU that cannot be configured.... most likely because you don't have the right OpenCL installed or you're trying to configure a GPU that's not supported.
Give us a shot and find the log. (See the signature block under my FIRS post on this page.)
