Re: 7im
What information has been made public is in the obituary notice Bruce provided a link to. One could assume from the suggested memorial donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society that his death was related to that or complications from leukemia or a lymphoma. But that might just be a group he supported in life for other reasons.FAMAS wrote:how did he die?

I'm sure a contribution to FAH would also be appropriate, since that's something he obviously supported in life. If it's money you choose to contribute, FAH is preparing an end-of-the-year campaign for cash contributions to FAH @ Stanford. Details will follow.
Again, I don't think it's my place to recommend what you choose to do or not do.

Re: 7im
I'll certainly miss him. He was the kind of guy that had a supernatural ability to cut to the core of a question without wasting many words. Sometimes it came across as a bit tough, but over time I realized the wisdom of his answers and appreciated the clarity he provided. He passed at such a young age -- I hope his family is doing ok under the circumstances. My prayers are with them, and for 7im in that he finds eternal peace in the ultimate compute cloud.
bruce, you knew 7im a whole lot better than most of us. What do you think he would have appreciated most in terms of some type of donation, monetary and/or otherwise?

Just saw this now. Sad news. 7im was indeed a fierce fah supporter! In folding heaven, -bigadv is still a thing. Fold on, 7im!

I also have only just read this thread and, even though I never knew 7im, will miss seeing his frequent posts. He popped up everywhere to help, it seemed.
I would like to add my condolences to his family and friends.

Some of us are late to the ... announcement. I feel a sentimental void knowing that this valuable player has passed, and without us FAH users knowing about it until 2 months afterwards. Some of us, even longer. Wow, the way life -- and the opposite -- happens sometimes.
Rest In Peace, 7im

Man, I havent logged in here for a long time and missed this. He was good guy, one I bumped heads with occasionally, but still good to talk to. Sad to see he passed.
Re: 7im
Yep.
We've missed you, too, but at least you're here today.
