I reduced from 2 cpu:15 slots after I noticed that the performance of the GPU slots seemed to improve while waiting for assignments. I must say that it has been interesting to get different projects at cpu:12 than I was getting with the single cpu:30 slot.

If nothing else is running on your system, leaving one free CPU per GPU should be sufficient. Doing things that put a significant load on those last CPUs will certainly cause the GPUs to slow down.
