It looks good in Safari on iOS. In fact I may prefer it to the full website

Re: Trial run of mobile optimised theme - comments
Couple of comments to address:
Pages too wide: This is because some of our subforums have long titles, which expands the dropdown list beyond the visible edge of the page. Not sure if this is fixable.
No scrolling codeboxes: I don't think this is a problem with the style, it was probably an intentional choice as a limited number of mobile browsers actually support scrolling boxes. I tested the desktop and mobile versions on my android device, and neither the stock browser or Dolphin HD would allow me to scroll the code box, but Firefox would (in desktop view). I suggest keeping this as it is at the moment for compatibility.
Post box too narrow: Yes, I see that too and is probably something fixable.

Re: Trial run of mobile optimised theme - comments
There was a comment earlier about not finding the "new posts" button. I also couldn't find the "View Your Posts" button in mobile mode.
re: code blocks. I checked the Silk-based Amazon browser, Maxthon, Dolphin HD, and Firefox in the desktop mode - and Firefox is the only one of these browsers that supports scrolling incode boxes. With firefox, you don't see scroll bars, but you can flick with your finger or stylus in the code box and it scrolls.
re: entering posts in mobile mode. While you have some of the facilities of the "full editor" mode, you don't have any of the formatting, Quote, Code, List, Img, URL, etc facilities. If you need any of these, it's easy to revert to the desktop mode while you are editing, and them back to the mobile mode.
Slightly off topic - but related to lack of the "new posts" button in mobile mode. In the standard desktop mode, when you are in the "new posts" screen, you don't see the "view active topics" button - you have to navigate throuh the "board index" screen to get there.
Anyway, the mobile mode seems an efficient, lightweight access to the forum. Good work.

Both of those buttons are there. Just click on the magnifying glass top right. Similarly extra (and different) options can be accessed by pressing the gear icon top right and bottom right.GreyWhiskers wrote:There was a comment earlier about not finding the "new posts" button. No, but in the default theme I think the index page is the only one where that link appears anyway.GreyWhiskers wrote:Slightly off topic - but related to lack of the "new posts" button in mobile mode. In answer to uncle_fungus latest post re: the default theme, I went to the User Control Panel and poked around a number of options I hadn't touched before.7im wrote: Anyway to get this theme (but not sreen size) on a PC?
--- Under "Board Preferences", there is a selection for "My Board Style". Besides the default, ProSilver which is all I had ever seen there are two more of interest:
1. Artodia Mobile and SEO. This is exactly the mobile theme. You can select it for your desktop.
2. Subsilver2. This has a different look and feel, but in the small time I have been using it, I like it better than the default. For instance, the "New Posts" and "View Your Posts" and "View Active Topics" and "View Unanswered Posts" buttons are in most of the screens. Exactly what I've been looking for.
So - thanks to uncle_fungus for leading me to explore.

Re: Trial run of mobile optimised theme - comments
Clicking on a username both opens a drop-down thing showing how many posts they have, etc, and loads their profile info page. Then when I go back to the previous page, the drop-down thing is still there and its difficult to get rid of. IMO, clicking their username shouldn't immediately open their profile page.
Edit: for clarification, on the Dolphin HD browser, the drop-down appears when I press on the username, a second later the browser shows a popup asking what to do with the link, and when release my finger the user's profile info page is pulled up.

Re: Trial run of mobile optimised theme - comments
I mentioned earlier that it was difficult to get rid of drop down boxes, and as that has been fixed by scrolling away, however trying to click it the button to get the dropdown again, it will not work. You must click off and then click for the dropdown menu and then it will work
Also, I was in "active topics" and when I clicked on the 2 for page two of this thread it would still take me to page 1

Re: Trial run of mobile optimised theme - comments
Clicking the Full Version button opens the subforum that the thread is in, not the page of thread itself. I needed the Full Version yesterday when I wanted to link to a specific reply in a thread, but couldn't get the reply's URL from this mobile view. There's a workaround involving quoting the reply in a PM and then copying the link provided, but that's awkward and doesn't work when the user has disabled PMs.

Re: Trial run of mobile optimised theme - comments
From the "new posts" view, posts with multiple pages display blue boxes with links to page 1 2 3 etc. However, each of those page links always takes me to the first page, not page 2 or 3. I have to use the # link or next link to go from one page to another.

I have been unable to use this on a Windows smart-phone. I sent an email about it to the "Contact the Admins" link . . . something about a missing module just after I logged on. If you need more info I can dig deeper. The OS I'm running is Windows Phone 7.5

I know there's not much space, but is there a way to show the last poster on the new posts page? Right now it only shows the thread starter.
