I'm thankful I was able to gather a few more ppd to help hold off the 4P crowd on my team a few days longer.
There have always been more and less productive WUs and there always will be. I suppose I spend more time than most donors figuring out how to maximize ppd through WU assignment. Now we have more tools than ever, with different clients getting a different mix of WUs, to improve the odds of getting the more productive or avoiding the less productive ones. I'll be creating a few new VMs running v7 so I don't have to install and uninstall it to switch back and fourth between clients. On one of my 2600K machines, I now have the option of running Win SMP v6.34 only, Win SMP v6.34 + GPU v6.41, Win SMP v7 only, Win SMP v7 + GPU v7, WIn SMP v7 + Win GPU v6.41, Win SMP v6.34 + GPU v7, Linux SMP v6.34 VM, Linux SMP v6.34 VM + Win GPU v6.41, Linux SMP v7 VM, Linux SMP v7 VM + Win GPU v6.41, Linux SMP v7 VM + Win GPU v7 VM, Native Linux combos..... actually there are too many to name. Add to those combos the assignment flags for each and you really have more options than anyone "stay on top of". You do have to work at it, so the ppd aren't free.

You are as bad as I am as far as having diffrent combinations to run. And yes it is actually easy to avoid the WU's you do not wish to fold now days.

I'm seeing a 50% reduction in ppd on the 8001/4 so that's close to what the ppd the p6970 its running now will do.
