Project: 2613 (Run 7, Clone 6, Gen 27)

Post by Baowoulf »

I got this project a few days ago on an unoverclocked computer running 6.20 systemtray cpu client. It was running fine until it hit 60 or 61 out of 125 frames. Then I got a pop up on my screen from Folding@Home that said "Folding@home has run into a serious error running the core. and will shutdown." After I hit ok it closes the program.

I think it gave an error when I tried to view the original log file. But when I restarted the log file started from today and I can't access the previous log file. Because of where it's installed I have to turn on viewing of hidden folders and for some reason now of all times each time I set it to that it's like it doesn't go through and sets it back at the default. I wish this installed to the same place 5.03 did maybe then I wouldn't have the WU download program I have with this version as well.

Each time I try to restart it gives the same error. It doesn't go on to a new WU either. Just eventually gives the error and shuts down.

That looks like a file corruption problem. If you don't have any completed but unsent work units, I'd recommend quitting the client, deleting queue.dat and the contents of the work directory, and then restarting the client.

The only problem is all that is in a hidden file because of where version 6.20 installs too :(. For some reason it won't let me see them. I set it to view hidden files and hit apply and ok and nothing happens no hidden files show up :(.

Look in the Start menu for the F@H program. I believe there's a link there that should open Windows Explorer showing the contents of the data folder even if the folder itself is hidden.

Thanks it worked to getting into the file. Found the missing part of the log file. I was able to delete the queue.dat file and all of the WU folding except for one thing. "wudata_03CP.arc" When I go to delete that I get a message that pops up and says

Cannot delete wudata_03CP: Access is denied.

Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.

F@H is not running at the time.

What happens if you reboot the computer and restart the client? I don't think that left over file will matter.

Thanks for the help it's working on a new P895 WU. As well as me being able to make hidden files viewable again. Guess I should have probably tried a restart in the beginning.
