Project: 3903 (Run 3505, Clone 3, Gen 7)

Post by DAR »

I finished this project at August 14. But I have not received credits for it.

This project stayed in the queue for a while. So maybe it was transmitted the 15th.
I had a backup. So I transmitted it a few times, but no credits.

Thanks,
DAR

Can you post a log from your client showing its startup ?

Why do you use a SMP client in uniprocessor mode ? Did you forget the -smp flag ?

I use multiple machines. 1 quadcore, and 1 single core at work. Sometimes I use my quadcore to finish an almost completed project. Which can be done simultaneously with a running SMP project. And if I am late, I also receive a new project. Which I will finish at work.

I use the SMP client also at work, but not to run SMP's. But it turned out to be more stable.

Did you get the last r3 version of the 6.22 client : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=4913 :?: Uniprocessor mode might be affected by the ACK issue too ...

We're looking into it--it may be a problem stemming from the use of multiple machines.

The Stanford servers keep track of which client (and client ID) downloads a work unit, and expects it to come back from the same system, as a security measure. When you start moving work units around, you can cause problems.

For more info on the topic, see the Sneakernetting article in the FAH WIKI. If you follow those directions, you can avoid this problem.

I now also downloaded the R3 version. But the problems with my pc at work was solved when I started using the 620 client. With the 504 client my pc sometimes froze. But the 620 is not usable anymore, so I switched to the 622 client.

This P3903 project. I finished it at the same pc as where I downloaded it. So it should be no problem of sneaker-networking.
And I must say that I did not have problems with sneaker-networking before. And even just now I completed a project which came from another pc. And I received the credits.

But I will send the results of this P3903 also from another pc. Maybe it works. As I said, I still have the completed project.
