Welp, we may just have to wait until you get yours before this gets figured out. I forgot that I can get away with driver only for Nvidia, but I have to install the full software bloatware on AMD to get it to fold. So I tried the same for Intel, however I still see GPU's 0 and nothing detected. Moreover, after I installed the full Intel package, it keeps telling me there's a driver update, I tell it to install it, it reboots, but it's on the same driver, and tells me again there's a driver update. So ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Welcome to Intel GPU world :D

Tried a few more things to no avail, but here is my sticking point that I still don't understand:

My gpus file was last modified 12/9. The file itself says not to modify the local copy, so how exactly does it get updated if I'm not manually downloading a new one from somewhere? In any case, as we can see, no recent updates, and there's nothing in it about the new Intel GPU. So if the FAH client is supposed to be grabbing a new version, then something is off.

GPUs.txt gets updated when client detects new GPU. Server now has updated version. It is a matter of time till it gets distributed to everyone. You can delete that file, and restart FAHClient, and it should download new file. However, it will not enable you to fold on that GPU since the missing opencl drivers

Hi,

I'm getting a unit soon too. Has anyone tried it on Debian?

You need minimum 6.12 kernel for linux. I'm still searching for distro which supports latest kernels. Mint is on 6.11

Ah, OK. It downloaded a new file. As for openCL drivers, I can't find a specific openCL package for Intel GPU's via Google, so if it's not already baked into their full driver package, I'm at a loss.

Sounds good. If that's the case, then I have it installed.

Edit: Looking at system info again, I see a line that says "OpenCL Device 0 Platform: 0 Device: 0 Bus:NA Slot:NA Compute: 3.0 Driver: 32.0"

I've been off v7 for a while now, can't remember the particulars.
It is entirely possible that Intel's OpenCL driver is borked

I did find this in their driver app:

I could try v8 again if you think there's any chance it would make a difference, but v7 has always been solid for me, so I'm guessing it's not the issue.

It might be v7, but I cannot say for sure until I try it myself.

Well, good news is v8 does recognize the card:
