longest work unit to date.

Post by whocrazy »

Hi.
Project: 12413 (Run 51, Clone 1, Gen 26) is running really slowly.
I don't remember other work units on this new computer in this project running more than about 7 hours. This WU looks like it will take the whole day.
Did I do anything wrong, and can I speed up the work unit? I'm running on 16 cores.

How long a WU runs is not something I usually monitor since it varies so much between projects. Timeouts vary from 1-7 days on the current project list.

The Estimated PPD that is shown in FAHControl is what I use to evaluate performance of my hardware. My i7-13700K on Linux usually estimates 600-800K PPD, with occasional rare estimates of 500K and occasionally higher at 900K-1M PPD. Your i7-13700F should probably be within 85-90% of those numbers, maybe a bit lower on Windows.

I've had cpu wu's that take over 36 hours to complete, tpf in excess of 36 minutes. 6-7 hours is nothing really.
