How to view logs on windows 10

Post by Kebast »

I'm having an issue with windows 10 client where I have to quit the folding client before the log writes to the logs directory. Normally I'd just look on the logs tab in the app, but parts scroll off during the day so I can't see everything.
Is there a better way to view the full log file without having to stop the client?

You can find the current log file in /Users/<user name>/AppData/FAHClient/log.txt. Previous log files can be found in the logs directory in that same folder.

I don't know of a way to get the Advanced Control to show the full log file.

Hah, thanks. No idea how I missed that. Probably just saw the logs directory and didn't look past that.

If you click on the Refresh button next to the log window in FAHControl, that reloads the current log from the beginning. You can then scroll all the way up, turning off "Follow" helps.

Did the location get moved? I can't find the logs. Pressing refresh doesn't bring up older logs either. I think I lost my CPU WUs by turning off the computer each night.

The current version of the client stores work files and the log files in a different location to make it possible for the client to be installed and used by more than one user on a Windows PC. Go to this topic - viewtopic.php?p=327412#p327412, and follow Method 2 on locating and posting logs. It includes how to get to both locations for the older client versions and the current one.
