Starting this morning, my main GPU has been receiving project 17110 WUs. I have a couple of questions about it:
1) Since these are benchmark WUs, do you actually get credits for them? Each one shows about 10-15k points after completion, but my stats don't seem to be changing.
2) How long will a particular GPU get these WUs?
3) Since I have (2) GPUs folding, should I expect the other one to get these WUs as well?
As long as I'm helping the overall FAH project, I really don't care about the points...that much!

Re: Questions about Project 17110 (benchmarks)
1) There is an ongoing issues with all stats not just this project - see other posts.
2) The project will run for as long as the FaH team need it to to test/benchmark the new core - this doesn't tend to be for that long - days not weeks/months/years.
3) The project will hit any/all gpus - each run within the project is a totally different - effectively a project made up of runs that are different projects.
You may well see very different ppds from the different runs - they are all pretty quick to process (my rtx3070 was completing most wus in 5 to 10 minutes) so you will see a higher rate of WU throughput than normal.

Re: Questions about Project 17110 (benchmarks)
Actually I have a suspicion that the pool of p17110 wus may have been exhausted for the time being - waiting to see if any more are going to be released.

I'll pay more attention this evening when I re-enable folding on my primary GPU.Neil-B wrote:Actually I have a suspicion that the pool of p17110 wus may have been exhausted for the time being - waiting to see if any more are going to be released.

Re: Questions about Project 17110 (benchmarks)
Just seen clarification ... the wus for this will probably be released in batches/pulses so that if anything nasty starts to occur then the supply will run out before to much pain is caused - not that issues are expected but best to be careful ... I guess this means these might appear sporadically for a bit ... see announcement re this new core https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=37700

Re: Questions about Project 17110 (benchmarks)
We've completed testing, so you likely won't see more 17110 WUs. Core22 0.0.20 rollout will occur soon, and should deliver some performance enhancements!
These are indeed intended to be short test / benchmark WUs whose purpose is to test a wide variety of workloads to make sure no errors pop up and benchmark all GPUs on a variety of workloads. Base credit is assigned via the usual process.
We do roll these out in small batches to ensure we don't cause widespread issues when testing new cores.
Thanks for helping ensure quality control of the new cores, everyone!
