Re: Folding slot option ignored during boot up?
I believe the client is designed to automatically detect and add new GPUs, it's a feature.
To stop it:-
Go to the "Expert client options", Advanced Control -> Configure -> Expert, and add an entry name = 'gpu', value 'false'.
Remove the slot you don't want.
Reboot/restart to make sure it works.
If it interests you, I also use an option named 'pause-on-start' to make sure the client only starts folding when I tell it to.

Don't touch pci-bus and pci-slot settings in a GPU slot, they are handled automatically by the client.
