18201 (46853, 0, 8) slow, minimal GPU usage

Post by TonyStewart14 »

Project 18201 is hardly using my GPU power and the PPD is below normal. My 3060 Ti is giving 1.2M PPD when usually I get 2-3M. The core clock is only at about 780 MHz when running this WU. Is anyone else having this issue or able to explain what might be the cause?

This project should produce some of the highest ppd your gpu will get as it really works well for the faster/wider gpus such as the rtx30 series .. may be a driver issue ... pause slot ... reinstall drivers ... reboot machine ... restart folding

After doing this and running it for a couple minutes, this worked. Thanks!

agree with Neil-B, I suggest running GPU-Z to check temp, etc. and MSI afterburner

This behaviour often happens after a driver reset (because of a hardware or a software instability) ...

As you can see, a reboot of the system fixes the symptoms, but if it happens more than once, you should check your system stability to eliminate the root instability ...
