Network traffic statistics?

Hi,

I live in a rural area and can't get internet via cable or ADSL instead we use 4G cellular for our connection. However this comes with a monthly download limit.

Can I tell how much data the Folding program is using?

Welcome to the F@H Forum GrahamPye,

It depends on the hardware you're using for folding. Generally speaking, folding on the CPU only tends to use less data than GPU folding. If you look at your log file, you can calculate it manually:

FWIW: 4 core Intel i5-4310U CPU @ 2.0GHz CPU / 8GB RAM. (i.e. not very powerful by modern standards) Don't know if I'm using the GPU or not - how do I tell?

It seems to be a laptop. To figure out if you're using the GPU or not, it will be shown in the log file. For example, this is my log file which shows that the client has detected the GPU and is using it for folding:

Yes, you're right, it's a laptop. And (hence?) it doesn't have a GPU.

Without knowing details/model of the laptop, it's hard to tell.

Some laptops do come with a dGPU (AMD/Nvidia) which might be supported by F@H if they have OpenCL 1.2 and Double Precision support.

Other laptops come with iGPU which are currently not supported by F@H.
