Windows & Linux Conurrently

I am enjoying my foray into Folding@home (formerly a SETI devotee) and looking for ways to increase my FAH productivity. My question: Would it be possible and/or worthwhile to run FAH concurrently using both the Windows App and Linux App on a HP Spectre laptop running Windows 10 v2004 and WSL2 installed?

not really a good idea, you would be dividing the same hardware resources between the two running clients and it would not gain you or the project anything. if you have another machine running linux you can set folding then it's possible to do that with the same username and passkey as the windows install

I am not sure what you are hoping to accomplish, but F@H does not share well, even with F@H. It is almost a given that you will do less science, and make fewer points. F@H wants to be the lowest Priority job, balancing that across OS's will be sub optimal.

Thank you for the replies. Bottom line is that I am trying to maximize productivity on my Windows 10 laptop which is only reporting 15-20% of the points per day we get in our iMacs. There may be other reasons for this such as delayed downloads in the Windows app but I am surprised at the relatively poor folding performance of my HP Spectre. Perhaps I need some additional FAH advanced configuration. Not sure. Alternatively, I don't need the laptop for work at the moment so perhaps I would be better off just converting it to Linux.

If you download and install the driver from Nvidia, this should almost do as well as a GT 1030, Nvidia's slowest discrete card. It meets all the F@H Prerequisites, and should finish before any deadline if run 24/7

This is not an Nvidia OpenCL, if I had to guess, Intel.

You have 8 threads but are only using 3 of them, I would Up that to 6 if it was me.

Use this boilerplate to set it to 6

In the taskbar to the lower right of the screen, you should see a F@H molecule icon, click it (you may need to click an Up Arrow to see it ^)

The second item in this menu is Advanced Control, click it

On this screen to the left is a Configure button, click it

Now you get a screen with a Slots tab, click it

On this white field should be a cpu item, click it and then click edit

By default F@H set the number of CPUs to -1 meaning let the software decide.
You can enter any number from 1 to the number of threads your CPU supports.

If you have GPUs, F@H reserves one CPU per GPU to feed it data across the PCIE bus.

F@H has difficulty with large primes and their multiples number of CPUs.
7 is always large, 5 is sometimes large, and 3 is never large. Try to choose a number that is a multiple of 2 and/or 3.
2, 3, 4, 6, and 8 are good numbers of CPUs to choose.
5 may work most of the time. 7 will bite you
Type the number you want, and click save.

Once the GPU has a good driver, and the CPUs are hard coded to 6, lets see a new log!

Thank you for your help. Did a complete reinstall of Windows 10 Pro v2004 and updated anything and everything including Nvidia drivers. Also hard coded the CPU to 6 although F@H seems to want to reduce that to 3. FAH Points per Day have already improved dramatically (x10) and are approaching double what i get on my iMacs. Still seeing some error messages. Logs will follow.

It would be a good idea to change the CPU slot to 6 threads ...Use advanced control and configure it for this - I guess it is currently using -1 as the default and you have an 8 thread CPU.

Sometimes an AS will assign you a lower thread count due to lack of WUs available for your thread count … but in the case of 7 that is just a "bad number" as FAH doesn't like thread counts that are a multiple of primes greater than 3.
