Strange error message :-0 new to folding!

Hi I get a strange error message when I open FAH control centre (Client Advanced Control.)

Has this anything to do with the spare capacity at the moment?

Do I have a virus?

The computer's fans have been running flat out for three days no with no folding happening. :eo

I have tried restarting my computer and the router.

I think Windows was doing an update also.

Help please!

There seems to be something wrong with the configuration of your GPU. Could you please post the first 200 or so lines of your logs (tab Log in the Advanced Control), starting with

It turns out that the essential part begins with *** System *** but you're not really wrong.

@Cruddson001
You do not have a virus. Yes, something is missing from your setup which would be shown it the next part of the log that ajm asked for.
Strictly guessing here, have you installed/updated the GPU drivers from the website for NVIDIA or AMD (depending on the brand of GPU you have)?

Hi the button is greyed out.

Can I simply uninstall and reinstall the folding app?

No, and actually, I was only folding on my CPU not the GPUs the past few weeks, until it stopped.

No I wouldn't have thought so, and the GPUs were never part of my folding activites (so far!)

Sure you can. When you uninstall, click the "Data" checkbox" too, it's safer. And if you have chosen a team and/or entered a passkey, you can first make a copy of the file Config.xml in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient - it contains everything you need to reconfigure you account when you reinstall.

I have just resolved a heat retention issue with my CPU by installing up graded case fans.

I have tried to update the GPU drivers to the latest ones but have failed. This is due to the age of my graphics cards.

I list below my current graphics driver specifications.

There is a more recent version of the driver (16.60.2011-170210a-311199C,) but for some unknown reason it refuses to install.

I'm sorry, but I don't think that your cards (Radeon HD 6850) will be able to fold correctly.
They would need FP64 (double precision), and they lack that feature: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/r ... -6850.c255

Yes, in the HD 6000 series AMD only supported DP (FP64) processing on the HD 6900 cards. Projects that did not require DP finished up last year.
