Is it possible to fold on two computer using sam passkey &ID

Post by oath_keeper4 »

So far I am trying to fold on two computers, my desktop pc is doing fine but my laptop has not been getting any work units for the past 10 hours and has been running idle? My laptop has been getting error 10053 while my desktop is running fine with no problems? Any suggestions?

Welcome to Folding@Home!

It is indeed possible to run multiple PCs with the same names and passkey! (and team, too)

If you post the first 200 lines of your log, it should show us what the client thinks you have in the way of hardware, software, and configuration. Then we can make better guesses.

Yes, using the same username and passkey is just fine.

You can ignore the 10053 errors, they come from the Web Client not closing its connection properly.

Your laptop may be running into congested servers- viewtopic.php?f=24&t=33193. If you are getting messages of unable to assign and similar, after a few hours try pausing the client for a minute or two and then start back up. The laptop should eventually pick up a work assignment. If it doesn't within 24 hours, you can post the beginning section of your log file, the first couple hundred lines, and we can take a look and see if there is a configuration issue.
