GPU: config reset to false Nvidia GP107GLM Ubuntu 18.4

It seems that a lot of GPU problems revolve around specific versions of drivers. Though NVidia has their own support structure, you can often learn from information reported by others who fold.

GPU: config reset to false Nvidia GP107GLM Ubuntu 18.4

I dual boot Win 10 and Ubuntu 18.4. I've been folding on Win 10 for a while using both my CPUs and GPU, but need to run Linux now for a while. I can't get my Nvidia GP107GLM to be used. The Log shows that CUDA and OpenCL are both found. I've gone into Config/Expert and set GPU to true. It keeps being reset to false immediately (tab out of the field and it immediately reverts to false).

Here are the steps I took to configure the GPU for FAH use (I previously hadn't installed anything for the GPU). I got these instructions from various posts on the forum (possibly other sites too--I wasn't too careful in noting the sources, sorry).

Since I won't be going back to Win 10 for a while, I'd really like to get the GPU running here. Thanks for any pointers.

Instead of changing the field, try selecting the gpu false setting and deleting it. Save after making the change and either restart FAHClient, or reboot.

Please remove the ppa and install the mainline Nvidia drivers from Ubuntu.
The ppa is no longer needed and the drivers included in the standard repository will bring the nvidia-xxx-compute packages as well.
