I have a windows machine, running under a firewall. I'm stuck. I don't use any gateway.

192.0.2.1 would typically be a router and not one of F@H work servers.

You will to need to look into why F@H is talking to your router rather than the servers. It could be a firewall on the router or something on your computer rerouting traffic.

192.0.2.1 is also where GPUs get sent if they aren't configured correctly or aren't up to running FAH iirc … can you post the top 200 lines or so of your log as this will help rule that out.

SO I am reckoning that the GeForce GTX 970 should be able to fold but is throwing an error I haven't encountered before:

For the Radeon HD 5400/6300/7350/8350 (not sure which you GPU actually is) - I have a suspicion that it will be a model that does not support double precision floating point and therefore is not suitable for folding - this is what the 192.0.2.1 messages relate to … feel free to check https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/ and see if you can track down you actual GPU - what you are looking for on their layout is for a figure listed next to "FP64 (double) performance" (you can see this on the record for the GTX) … There are other factors as well but this seems to be the one most cards fall short on.

So someone with better technical knowledge than me will hopefully step in and advise on the GTX GPU … instinct tells me this might be a firewall type issue - but that is a guess on my part.

The Radeon does not support DP, that is the redirect to A test/documentation IP. Just remove that folding slot and possibly the card if you are not using it for your display.

No, that range you will not see on a router as it is reserved for test/documentation purposes.

As for the "Failed reading core package header" error messages, those most likely come from firewall blocking. The FAHClient process uses HTTP over ports 8080 and/or 80 to do data transfers inbound and outbound. By default many firewalls block inbound connections using HTTP if it is not being done by a "known" web browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, IE, and so on. You will need to add an exception for FAHClient allowing it the same ability to transfer as a web browser.

Also make certain that the user that FAHClient is running under has R/W access to the directory shown in th log as CWD:

I've tried disabling the firewall, giving authenticated users all permissions on tghe fsa folders, running fsa as administrator.
Nothing worked.
Thanks to all, I surrender.
This software is too hard to use, you should not be such a network engineer to contribute a distributed calculus. Very bad.
