Statistics on API not updated/differ from web client stats

Hello everyone!
First of all thank you all for putting so much effort in this project!
My Question is:
Why are the statistics on the webclient more recent than the statistic I get via the API as shown in the two pictures beneath?

Due to overloading issues from all of the new participants and stats requests, the setup was recently modified. Some reports are being updated periodically, not continuously. Depending when you check, they may be more in synch.
