debian buster and python-gnome2 library

Post by Erni24 »

Hi,

why is there a dependency to python-gnome2 in FAHcontrol deb package? I installed the package under debian buster. It says it need python-gnome2, but runs without it. But on every update the FAHcontrol package is removed because of broken dependencies.

The client is built using Python 2 which is deprecated and end of life. A new client is in the works but that may take sone time.

This thread discusses this and there is mention of using apt mark to stop the removals
