Re: [UPDATE: KB4467708 is to blame] F@h crashes after 30 sec
Is it the same issue coming back or just that the update broke OpenCL and just require NV drivers to be reinstalled from NV package ?
Re: [UPDATE: KB4467708 is to blame] F@h crashes after 30 sec
Speculative answer:
The MS policy of uninstalling OpenCL when they install a new version of NV drivers has not changed, even if the driver update is hidden in a Cumulative Update

Re: [UPDATE: KB4467708 is to blame] F@h crashes after 30 sec
Hello, I return after a while. It still doesn't work, 2 cumulative updates and a clean reinstall of the latest nVidia driver later. Also uninstalled Vulkan runtime to try and force OpenGL. I even reset the folding core and work units. I suspect another reinstall of Windows will be a waste of time.
Are there any ideas or suggestions? How else can I manage the runtimes used by f@h? Is there a new version of f@h in the works, even an experimental one, I'll be more than willing to try it!

Can you post your current FAH logfile?
Maybe in Windows event log there is an entry showing what killer FahClient.exe?

Perfect, now the crashes show in event viewer. And it's weird. It blames the crash on the OpenGL drivers of both nvidia and intel (nvopencl and igdrcl). Folding client log still doesn't show anything.
@toTOW and @bruce you're right, but simple driver reinstalls/updates didn't do it.
What to do from here?
I'll try installing the new modern intel graphics driver despite it's reputation of being buggy

Re: [UPDATE: KB4467708 is to blame] F@h crashes after 30 sec
Fixed it !!! By installing the modern DCH Intel graphics driver https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downlo ... duct=80939
Folding is now running for 15 minutes without any crash, still doing ~170K PPD.
It seems that ever since that KB4467708 update it requires modern drivers in order for OpenGL to work properly
TO NOTE, for anyone reading in the future:
I have an OEM laptop so at first I had the "The Driver Being Installed Is Not Validated For This Computer" error show up. To install it you have to first manually install one of the older drivers that are signed by Intel, then it will work. I also updated the chipset and ME drivers but that probably doesn't have anything to do with this.
It sure took a while Thanks everyone!

Hmmm.
Are you trying to open FAHViewer?
FAH uses OpenCL but I'm not or it using OpenGL except in the Viewer.
Anyway, installing OpenGL is a good idea.

Guess he meant nvidia Open(C)L which was broken because of the Intel Graphics driver was in conflict and latest intel driver in new Windows format DCH fixed the nvidia Open(C)L which is used by FAH.
Re: [FIXED:Install Intel DCH driver]F@h crashes after 30 sec
FaH does not support the Intel GPU -- only NVidia or ATI GPUs. If your OpenCL points to an Intel GPU, it needs to point to the other GPU
