hi i am a long timer (sort of) user if F@H but first time post on the forum.
my question is this, i have the 2004 windows client 5.03 (getting on a bit) running one my system happily churning out WU. however i happen to think that screen saver is kind of cool looking. however i cant really run the saver from the client because it need the saver to go to the switch user pane in windows, (work reasons, dont like us have un scecured screen savers), anywho, is there any way of running the graphical client in sys tray, then having the screen saver come up and act like a "real" windows screen saver rather than a full screen of the client.
i think that you can a instance of FAH like this however i really want to use the same instnce running, is ther any work around.
please help, many thanks

Re: hi screen saver issues, please help
Hello dobby156, welcome to the forum.
Sorry, if the v5.03 GUI client isn't working like you want, there isn't any other options at the moment that I know about. Pande Group is alreadying working on the v6.x GUI client (SysTray client), so development on the v5 clients has stopped. And in the v6 client, the viewer/screen saver isn't done yet for the CPU client. However, you can see what it will eventually look like. There is a screen capture of the new viewer in the GPU2 FAQ.

cool, thanks, i dont know whether you understood my question however, what i meant was, is there a way to have windows recognise the Sys Tray clients Screen saver mode as a standard screen saver, so for example, it would switch user when the screen sver pops up.
Re: hi screen saver issues, please help
All of the development work on "standard" Windows screen-savers was discontinued quite some time back due to a variety of problems. I don't know if those projects will ever be resumed, but for now they don't have what you're looking for.
