What really happens is that the cleaner comes in and unplugs the server so she can plug in her vacuum cleaner. Something like that actually was happening on a system a co-worker of mine was supporting. According to him a network switch, or maybe it was a hub, was in a closet where the cleaning crew kept a cart which was bumping the switch at about the same time every night and causing the local network to go down. He had to physically go to the location to see what was happening.
