Suggestion: Something like this would be useful:
New (editable) constant: My Power Cost in $/KWH
Calculate a new column: Months to amortize initial cost

The formula would be e.g. for a gtx 1070 compared to a gtx 980Ti which have nearly same PPD
gtx 1070 Power usage = 150 watt
gtx 980Ti Power usage = 250 watt
Power usage saved with gtx 1070 compared to gtx 980Ti = 100 watt = 0.1 kw
Power usage saved in a year = 0.1 kw * 24h *356 days = 855 kwh/yr
Power cost = $0.12/kwh
Power cost for 855 kwh = $0.12/kwh * 855 kwh/yr = $103 per year
gtx 1070 Initial cost = $400
gtx 980Ti sell for $300 on ebay.
Remaining cost $400 - $300 = $100
Remaining cost / Power cost savings per year = $100 / $103 per year = 1 year
So it takes 1 year to amortize the initial cost of a gtx 1070 when selling an existing gtx 980Ti.
After the first year you save $103 every year.

Nicely done! I've done many spreadsheets of my own with similar calculations - useful to show the GF that spending £5000 on GTX1080s actually saves money...

Yes, but that is because you cannot predict the value of QRB. Can you please add the rx series of the list?

What would be amazing is a calculator that takes into account the price of the card, performance/watt, the price of electricity and the expected lifetime of the card.
It could also show the relative break even period for different cards, and the total expected cost [upfront plus running costs] over x years (and allow you to 'budget' accordingly).
Some of the ppd values seem to be out from the source db? I'm not sure how accurate TDP is? I've seen numbers about that make the 1070 king for ppd/watt... But minor quibbles as I've seen your disclaimer at the bottom

I too do a similar thing but instead of using PPD, which varies greatly between WU, I use the numbers from FAHbench as they are not dependent on per project benchmarking. Typically the Explicit/1 numbers are the most relevant, so I build a table of Exp1/<unit of currency> and Exp1/watt, then add some conditional formating color scales to guide the eye. I also look for actual test results to get measured watts used instead of claimed, although I track both numbers out of interest.

Just for an update, the 1080 is down to $499 MSRP now. This should bump it's PPD/price up to 1.7, which is tied for the highest PPD/price. It's definitely looking like a much better 'value' proposition for folding now.

I saw where a volta was getting 1600k PPD and that seemed kinda low to me.
Not the 30% I was hoping for compared to pascal at 1400k PPD.

My 1080 Ti dropped from 1250k PPD (September) to just above 1000k PPD currently, because of different projects/WU I get.
