Nvidia GTX 650 Folding Issues

Post by dreamscape »

Hi all

I've just built my new dedicated folding machine. It's a Pentium Dual Core / 1GB RAM / GTX 650. Its running Windows 7 and so far it's all gone smoothly... However..

Now I've installed the latest FaH client I'm having problems. The CPU only uses 50% no matter what its set to medium/full and/or 1/2 slots given to the client. Also the GPU says "running" in green but the GPU is 0% and nothing happens. I did get it going earlier and left it running but it since stopped again and the PPD rate was only 1600.. surely a GTX 650 can do more?!

Really confused.

No problem now after leaving it alone for awhile it is now folding.

It's putting out 11,500 PPD is this good? I've also upgraded the CPU very slightly to a Core 2 Duo 2.13Ghz and have now got both cores running on their own WU (doesn't work if i put 2 on 1 WU for some reason). Each CPU core is putting out 560 PPD which i presume is bad? but every little helps i guess.

Current total for my machine is: 12,473 PPD. How is my machine performing? as expected or? I'm curious if its doing a good job or not. It's my dedicated FaH machine and runs 24/7.
