Nvidia GeForce 347.09 beta driver

It seems that a lot of GPU problems revolve around specific versions of drivers. Though NVidia has their own support structure, you can often learn from information reported by others who fold.

Nvidia GeForce 347.09 beta driver

Post by nvgpu »

This is a new beta driver from newer R346 driver branch, will need the F@H community to test and see if there's any bugs and report it to Nvidia so it will be fixed in future drivers.

Are you then saying that this Beta Driver HAS fixed all the current issues with the other 6XX, 7XX, and now the 9XX Graphics Cards?

No, he's asking us to test it and tell him.

Would be nice if it fixed some of the bugs mentioned, but I suspect not. It appears to have been released to support a few new games that came out recently.

Updated to 347.09 and there is no difference with a Core 17 9201 WU on a GTX 970. This is a good thing! :D Getting about 250K PPD on the 970 for Core 17 's.

Need to wait until I get another Core 18 to see if anything has changed there. Would be nice to at least get 200K PPD but I'm not holding my breath.

Updated to 347.09 and the tpf on a Core15 went from 2:22 to 2:43. I'll wait for the next to be sure, and I haven't checked on a Core18 or Core17, but looks like I'll be going back to 344.75.

347.09 beta is a "Game Ready Driver" with fixes for Elite: Dangerous and Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. There should be no difference for folding.

Today Pande mentioned that nVidia has a idea how to fix it - in a future driver.

Just to confirm... Core 18 still doesn't work with this driver.

This has been a concern of mine for awhile. When My GTX980 gets a core 17, it runs very well and gets a high PPD, but for the most part, it seems to receive core 15 WUs, sometimes for days on end. I hadn't thought of a driver issue causing problems with core 17 WUs, but had wondered if it was a server issue. If it is a driver issue, I guess I just have to wait until the bug is identified and a driver comes out that fixes it. I currently am running the 347.09 driver.

In the meantime, my GTX780 Ti cards are running normally and handling the core 17 WUs without problem, for which I am grateful. I would get another GTX980, but until the bug gets solved, I'll hold off on the purchase.
