If this is the wrong area to post this, my apologies.

Ok, i noticed after rebooting my laptop that one of my wu's hasn't been able to upload. The last msg indicated that:

Server issues? Wu's getting deleted?

Re: server has no record of my wu

Post by sortofageek »

The server to which your unit 04 WU is trying to return typically has a high net load. That's why it is having trouble uploading. No worries, however, as the client will continue to try to send it at intervals until it returns.

I'm not sure why you are getting the message of no record of the WU as I am not seeing which server is sending that message, work server or collection server, but I'm also not seeing anything about the WU being deleted. As long as it is still in the queue and isn't close to the deadline, just let the client keep trying periodically to send it. The good part is that you have work to do while waiting for that to happen. :)

Perhaps this one:

Most likely, yes. Still in queue, still trying to go home, have work to do. All good. :)

Welcome to the foldingforum, Saleen219.

1) Has this WU expired? Please run -queueinfo and check the dates.

2) I never remember which of these two numbers is which, but this might indicate the result is bigger than expected. Did you configure your client to accept Big WUs?

It may be possible that you need to download and run qfix. (must be run from the CMD prompt and must be in the folding directory). I don't know your level of computer expertise, so if you need more explanation than that, just ask.

Bruce:

I forgot to post yesterday morning - when I got up for work I checked to see if there where any changes to that particular wu.

It seems that it had uploaded to the servers during the wee hours of the morning. My assumption would have been that maybe there was a server issue that rectified itself. My apologies for the delay in replying - I didn't get any notice of replies to my OP and I didn't have my laptop at work with me yesterday. (ok i lied, because it was so early, I hit save instead of submit and ran out of time to fix that!)

I do appreciate everyones help on this. If anything - alleviating my worries in itself is a great help.

And thanks for the welcome!
