empty work order assignment

Post by rjohnson11 »

Been trying for the last half an hour or longer to get a work order assignment:

I am currently folding one work unit on my CPU but my GPU can't get a work unit. See log below:

Well I finally got a WU but it took quite some time before I did get one.

Did you check the server status page? Was the server low on WUs? Or was there a heavy workload?

I've got the problem once again and I'm checking the server status but how do I tell which server I am trying to get the work unit from?

Could you post the system info from the beginning of your log, please? That is, what GPU do you have? BTW, I'm not 100% proficient at interpreting the server stats myself, but GPU Work Servers look pretty busy to me, at least judging by the load on vspg13a.

EDIT: looks like you got some sort of Fermi GPU, judging by the original log.

Yep, the server you uploaded your previous WU to (VSP12/vsp12e) seems to be out of WUs. The vspg14c doesn't have much either. You could try setting client-type=advanced to in order to try core_17 WUs. The demand on core_17 WUs is pretty high, though. I suppose that's why the CPU load on vspg13a is so high.

The other way to see which servers to check is to look at the Project Summary linked from the top of every forum page. Look for projects that use the OpenMMGPU core in the list and which server they are listed on. Then check on the server status page.
