Not that I know of, now I tried folding with my GT330M using the Beta 7 client and it kept failing so I had to use the older GPU client to get it working. The M11x has a much newer and more powerful GPU so you might be good to go by just adding the GPU slot in Beta 7.DR650SE wrote:Awesome, will do when I get home. Also going to start folding on my M11x, anything special I need to know for my Nvidia GPU? Thanks again!

You and me both, I have a total of 1 WU completed for 766 pts. before the systems went down. My systems been running since Thursday night.

I should have over 80,000 points waiting for me, it is making me anxious.DR650SE wrote:You and me both, I have a total of 1 WU completed for 766 pts. before the systems went down. My systems been running since Thursday night.

Im trying to add this, do I need to add, and then the name is GPU and value is advanced? I think i'm confused between the Slots tab and the Expert tab. Do I need one for each GPU?orphic1 wrote:You need to add the following extra slot option in expert view in the folding slot options screen:DR650SE wrote:@orphic1 I'm using the Beta 7 Client, but don't really know what the Core 16 is. Glad to know I can keep folding and not worry about losing work

For each ATI GPU slot and then it should start folding using the new 16 Core which is more efficient on ATI GPU's.

Re: Stanford Network Issue
You open up the slots tab after opening the Configure panel (make sure your in Expert Mode), then if you have no GPU added select Add, then select GPU, set the gpu-index to 0 (this should be your first ATI GPU). Then go down to extra slot options and select Add, Name: client-type, Value: Advanced and hit Ok, and hit Ok.DR650SE wrote:Im trying to add this, do I need to add, and then the name is GPU and value is advanced? For each ATI GPU slot and then it should start folding using the new 16 Core which is more efficient on ATI GPU's.
Do the same thing for the other GPU but use gpu-index 1 instead of 0.
Now both GPU slots should be added so you can check and see if they are using FAH Core 16.
If that doesn't help Google "Folding with ATI Client-type advanced" and some guides should show up, I am new to the forum so it wont let me post a link for you with instructions but I believe the second link that shows up is the guide to follow.

Re: Stanford Network Issue
The advanced flag simply means you want WU that are a bit less stable than normal. You shouldn't "need" to add it to get work. I guess it COULD be used to get work that fewer people are after (the logic being that if the main resources are scares try to grab ones that not everyone are after) but unless you want less stable WUs I wouldn't recommend it. The WUs under the advanced/advmethods category are at the last state of the multi-leveled Quality Assurance process that all WUs go through before being released to everyone. This whole thing can get really complex if we're not careful, so I'm trying to explain things. If you are still interested in the advanced flag, see this page for some good pictures: http://folding.stanford.edu/English/WinGuide#ntoc10DR650SE wrote: Im trying to add this, do I need to add, and then the name is GPU and value is advanced? F@h is now the top computing platform on the planet and nothing unites people like a dedicated fight against a common enemy. This virus affects all of us. Lets end it together.

Don't panic, some people have a lot more points than that awaiting them - besides the main thing is that the science is not being lost.orphic1 wrote:I should have over 80,000 points waiting for me, it is making me anxious.DR650SE wrote:You and me both, I have a total of 1 WU completed for 766 pts. before the systems went down. Re: Stanford Network Issue
I have 9 cores running on 5 machines with no credit on stats for almost 48 hours. I don't care about the points, but is the work getting through? Will I shut down until you are ready???

Re: Stanford Network Issue
With no announcement from officials, I have shut down late today, being retired & on a tight budget I'm afraid I cannot justify continuation especially with no indication that WUs are actually getting through, so from me after, well, around 9 years of F@H its over & out for a whilekencode wrote:I have 9 cores running on 5 machines with no credit on stats for almost 48 hours. Re: Stanford Network Issue
When I've looked at the logs, all of the WUs I've done since the Stanford servers went down have been returned somewhere with a "Server responded WORK_ACK (400)" signal. I'm virtually certain that means a working server (work or collection) received the WU and is acknowledging the successful upload. Check to see if that's in your logs.
