contact folding.stanford.edu ?

Post by wheelguy12 »

I have asked 2 admins at folding.stanford.edu to delete 2 specific users who chose names that deface the folding.stanford.edu web site, but get no reply - either via email, or by seeing those users disappear. Does anybody know a better way to contact those admins? Or, maybe what I am asking is just not possible?

Thanks again!

There is some automatic filtering of fah user names, but this is the internet, and pretty much anything goes. Manually filtering accounts with juvenile names is not a productive task for the researchers.

Not asking for manual filtering of all names - just asking to delete 2 specific user names that I provided to 2 different admins. They have been out of commission for a while now, so I am hoping the perp lost interest.

Here are the names and user links that grace fah-web.stanford.com, since I have had a PM about them - perhaps others are curious also...

I do not think the admins have the ability to remove anything from the Stanford servers. Although I am a bit surprised Stanford has not removed it. I would venture to guess that name are against the rules and could be removed. You may want to edit them a little, I think most could figure it out.

Thank you very much. I don't want to bother them any more about this silly problem. That is why I posted here; I know that this forum is a separate entity. If nothing can be done, that's fine, just checking for suggestions.

As a rule, we haven't removed names, since it opens a pandora's box of requests that we have to either verify (who deserves to have their names removed, etc) or just make our own judgements on (which leads to other complaints).

We do filter swear words, even in multiple languages. This one is well hidden, but I'll consider some way to filter it out.
