Yeah, 171.64.65.54 is showing a CPU load of 15-20 for the last few hours. It has about 4,000 WU's available, hopefully it gets "kicked" soon.

Re: Idle Machine - No WU's available
I've had two 4core machines waiting for over 8 hours for work ...klasseng wrote:It's baaaack!
Same messages as before, for the last 6 hours
No science getting done on this 8-core machine
Re: Often can't get SMP WU's
We've just added some work units on 128.143.199.96 and adjusted the parameters for 171.64.65.54. Hopefully this will help assignments.

I'm having similar issues (mac client)but, it seems like the AS is routing to stuff with no WU's on it. And or switching to the 'no appropriate work units' thing. Kinda wondering what's going on. I haven't checked my PS3 client yet. I've got two WU's on an i7 system that can't be uploaded either. you guys look like you've got your hands full GPU client is still going
I forgot what i had in here last time.
Re: Often can't get SMP WU's
I've been trying to find an answer to this question. There's a new version of the SMP-Core being developed for OS-X. There is a shortage of assignments which will work with the old version and as near as I've been able to determine, they're all on one Work Server. When that server is down, the AS is smart enough to tell you it can't find an appropriate server. When that server has work to be assigned, you'll get it. When that server is up but either out of work or very low on work, the AS does it's best but may end up sending you somewhere with no WUs on it. Serverstat is only updated periodically, but the WU assignment process happens in real time so you can't always tell by looking at serverstat.
Once the new version of FahCore can be released, things should smooth out considerably.
Work (not) being assigned to OS-X has nothing to do with work being assigned to your PS3 and may or may not overlap with your i7, depending on whether your talking about OS-X/Linux/Windows, and to some extent on whether they're both 64-bit or both 32-bit or a mixture of the two.

Re: Often can't get SMP WU's
Are all the mac OS X units on one server? To say I tried it, I removed the -smp 2 flag and tried doing uniprocessor mode. AS still pointed me to nowhere can't find appropriate work etc.
the idea was that I could at least run in uniprocessor mode and contribute that way. At this point I'm betting all that can be done is being done, so it's just a matter of waiting. Going to leave the client up and dialing in so to speak, maybe it'll snag one overnight

Re: Often can't get SMP WU's
My understanding is that at the present time all of the available units for Intel OS X machines are SMP and only available from this server that is down. There are a few non-SMP units still being sent out for PPC Mac's running OS X, but as far as I know they did not create Intel OS X cores to process these units. Even these few PPC units will eventually dry up, the PPC Mac's were deprecated over a year ago.Brian Redoutey wrote:Are all the mac OS X units on one server?
