Re: FAH shuts down
I doubt that it's the same issue, but it might be.
When you run a FAH client, it downloads a WU and then starts a helper program called a FahCore to work on it. (You should never have to worry about those FahCore's since the client does it for you.) If you stop the FAH client, the FahCore needs to automatically shut down, too, and this is managed internally using the 'lifeline' (Also something you shouldn't have to worry about.)
The "client died" message indicates that there has been some unknown problem where you didn't actually shut down the client but it's no longer running. We need to figure out what that unknown problem was.
Perhaps Windows shut down the client because your computer had an unusual errors such as overheating or a problem with the RAM. Did you receive any other messages at about the same time? Have you had any other "strange" errors with other programs?
Without any detailed information, my first guess is that your computer is overheating. When was the last time the dust was cleaned out of the heatsinks? Are all the fans operating normally and is there plenty of air circulation around and through your commputer?

Re: FAH shuts down
It won't let me manually start a fah and they start when I start the machine but are quickly shutdown. I've tried to figure it out on my own but no luck. I've looked at event viewer but no hint of any actions there.
Re: FAH shuts down
If FAH starts automatically when you reboot, I suspect that there's a shortcut in the startup folder that's doing that. If you restart your machine in safe mode, it shouldn't start and you can move that shortcut somewhere else to regain control of your system. Once you can reboot normally we can figure out what's wrong.
If FAH does not start and you can boot normally, it's almost certainly an overheating problem. If you're comfortable working inside your computer, check carefully that all the fans are operating and that the heatsink is still properly attached on top of the CPU. Also check for excess dust blocking the airflow.
