Installation guides not up to date?
I have a dual core processor, 6600 @ 2.40GHz.
The Windows Uniprocessor (classic) Client Installation Guide, Systray version refers to a single tray icon, but I got two already from the first installation.
In the Folding@home-x86 folder, there's two applications running already.
I suspect that the installation manual isn't up to date with the latest version of the Folding @ Home installer, just like the PS3 guide is outdated and misleading.
Is my suspicion correct?
Further, the two apps in the tray runs different jobs, one is xxx/250, and the other xxx/100.
Is this as it should be?

Re: Installation guides not up to date?
Hello Ornamental, welcome to the forum.
The systray installer will only install one icon. If you have 2 icons, then you ran the installer twice, or you change some settings, or made a new shortcut, or something else. The Installer does not do that.
The Systray install guide is up to date. The PS3 guide is not, and I saw that suggestion in the PS3 section. Thanks.

What does the tool-tip say when you fly-over each of those icons?
If you Right-Click on each of those icons individually, what status information can you give us?

Thank you! I might've started two installations simultaneously?
bruce:
Left icon currently says "CPU - F@H: Working 50/250", right says "CPU - F@H: Working 7/100"

Re: Installation guides not up to date?
FYI
I had a similar problem with the GPU systray installer. Unnoticed by me, the installer had put the client shortcut in the Windows startup folder. Since I didn't realize it had done this I started up the client manually and soon realized I had two icons. I know I did not copy the shortcut into the startup folder, but I may have answered something in the installation process that put it there.

If I recall correctly I just stopped the one I had started manually and left it at that.
i.e. right click on the 2nd icon and select quit

Re: Installation guides not up to date?
In your case, since it's a cpu client and you have 2 cores, I would probably let both run but change the config on the second one to use the -oneunit flag or pause when done and shut it down when finished.
If they're both working on the same project with the same RCG numbers then you should just quit the second one(i.e. the one that has progressed the least).

Re: Installation guides not up to date?
Not unexpectedly, you're running two clients on the same set of work-files. That is never a good idea, whether it's intentional or not, and most common result is the corruption of data .. probably with a FILE_I/O_ERROR, just like you see here. Also note that you don't really have two files. You uploaded two copies of the same file because there's really only one file to begin with.
(I edited your post to show the actual files, not the link to an uploaded version. You can do that next time.)
No changes to the actual installation are needed. If you want to start FAH manually, remove the shortcut from the startup folder. If you want it to start automatically every time you reboot, leave the shortcut alone and don't start it manually when it has already been started.
