When reporting issues, please post a relevant part of your FAHlog.txt file showing the problem ...
Re: fahcore 15exe problem
This is likely related to how you installed the client. Which client did you install and where are its files?

I installed Windows XP/2003/Vista/7 GPU2 System tray client with special viewer for NVIDIA GPU's (installer msi) 6.23.
I can find the files in "Computer --> Local Disk C --> Program Files (x86) --> Folding@Home --> Folding@home-gpu

Re: fahcore 15exe problem
This will never work : the 6.23 client doesn't include the appropriate DLLs to run the Fahcore_15 ...
If you update your client to the latest 6.30 version, your core should start fine.

You can also find files in C:\Users\Optimus\AppData\Roaming\Folding@home-gpu.
Which model of GPU do you have?
This also might be related to which version of drivers you have installed and where the various supporting .dll's are.

Re: fahcore 15exe problem
I have 8800GT SLI, I have the latest drivers for the 8800GT's.
Yeah I can run that one(You mean GPU3?) but the performance is way different, when i use to have the GPU2 driver, my performance speed was more than 10 times faster than it is with this 1. Or is there a GPU2 6.30 version ? Cus I can run the GPU3 but like I said, the performance is really really low compared to what I ran before which was from 1000 to 2550

I hope some 1 can find the problem soon lol, I wanna keep folding home
Re: fahcore 15exe problem
Somehow either the server still thinks you are still running GPU3 or you've got a partially completed WU that needs the capabilities of GPU3. Restart the client after discarding queue.dat and the WORK folder as well as FahCore_15.toTOW wrote:This will never work : the 6.23 client doesn't include the appropriate DLLs to run the Fahcore_15 ...

Re: fahcore 15exe problem
Could it be the cuda drivers ? that aren't up to date ? or are those in the video card drivers ? Because man , I put it to max now and i get 240 ns :/, and usually got 250000ns when I had it in high . I almost cried LOL, I really hope I can find the problem soon!
Re: fahcore 15exe problem
Comparing ns is meaningful only if you're running the same protein. Are you running a different Project?
. . . and performance is only measurable when the viewer is not running. That's why most people download a 3rd party monitor program and measure things in PPD.

Re: fahcore 15exe problem
I seem to be having a similar problem. I currently have ver 6.30 of the client and I'm running a GTX 470 and a 9600 GT. Before I was able to run both clients seamlessly. I had the right flags and everything was running fine. The 470 was running the GPU3 stuff and the 9600 was running GPU2 stuff. Now for no reason the client has decided to start downloading the FahCore_15 for the 9600, which it can't run. I already tried deleting the work folder, the queue.dat file and the FahCore_15 file. I've restarted the computer, reinstalled the client, checked to make sure I have the latest nvidia drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled the most most current drivers, and even went as far as a disc check on my system. Still I can't get it to download the FahCore_11 again. I have no idea whats going on. Here is what the log give me.

Re: fahcore 15exe problem
Welcome to the F@H Forum imyourfather101,
Are you using these flags correctly:
Fermi GPU: -forcegpu nvidia_fermi
Non-Fermi GPU: -forcegpu nvidia_g80
and have you confirmed that there are two separate folders for your GPU Clients and what driver version are you using? Plus what is your operating system?
Also, please use the -verbosity 9 flag (Method) so it can include more details in the FAHlog which will be helpful in troubleshooting your problem. Furthermore, can you post the FAHlog (Method) of both GPUs; your 9600 and your GTX 470.
Do note that there is a newer version of the GPU Client v6.40r1 but the Systray Version might have a bug in the Pause feature. If you want you can upgrade it by visiting my GPU Guide, section "5 - GPU3 BETA Client Download Locations". Do note that the Console version works without any issues but lacks the pause feature and the GUI.
The reason the GPU Client is downloading FahCore_15 is because it was assigned a WU that needs FahCore_15.

Re: fahcore 15exe problem
It could be a flag problem. DL client, the latest here: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=16471
Which should negate the need for forcegpu flags.
This is just a drop in. Replace the [email protected]
In theory the 9600GT should fold core_15.
