i have tried 5 or 6 times to setup my 4 core to fold i used the setup below , but first , i tried with what you can see and it just started to fold ( no good ) and then was told to use admin that was ok i was able to get it setup but not able to put the 4 core's into different id's they all went into id zero ( no good ) i want them all working and want them visible so that i can check on them
what am i doing wrong please , likely in the wrong forum
Do you want to run F@H as a service, so it's invisible?
If so, download this file and make 4 folders.
Copy this file into each folder.
Go into the first folder, double click the file, and go through the steps of typing in your username and team number.
When it asks if you want to change advanced options, say yes. Accept the defaults, but when it asks "Start as a service...." say yes.
When you're done with configuration and it begins to download the core, press Ctrl+C to stop it.
Repeat this for the the second, third and fourth folders you created, do exactly rhe same but change the "Machine ID" from the default of 1, to 2/3/4 respectively to avoid conflicts.
Once all four setups have been completed, go to start - run - type services.msc and press enter. Find the four Folding@Home services, and start them all.
Four copies of F@H will now run in the background, with no visible indication that they're present. If you want to keep an eye on them, I recommend HFM.NET.
If you'd rather not have them run as services, just accept the default "no" for "Start as a service..." and it will just run when you've done the configuration,
however this will give you four command prompt windows for F@H.
Hope this helps.

Re: cannot get 4 core setup to work
I guess spongebob25 meant that you can run a single instance of SMP2 BETA Client v6.30 that can use all the CPUs in your system without the need of multiple Classic Clients in seprate folders.

Please read the client overview above. viewtopic.php?f=61&t=16207
Pay close attention to the question about how many hours per week you fold before deciding whether to run four uniprocessor clients or one smp client.
