Project 6318, two WU's completed, only seeing credit for one

Post by BABackman »

Hello.
I returned Project 6318 (Run 2880, Clone 90, Gen 0) and (Run 1710, Clone 89, Gen 0) on Feb 2, but only saw one work unit's points show up. Other threads have indicated problems with the associated server and possible recredits in the works, but I don't know if it has to be mentioned here to be found, so here it is.
From my notebook:

It is the work unit that went to the collection server that was not credited.

I've got 11 project 6318 work units that went to the collection server and have never been credited. They've been reported (several times) in the "Project 6318: Collection server misconfigured?" thread. There has been absolutely no response to those posted problems from Pande Group and I have to assume that they just don't give a damn.

I've also got 4 project 24xx work units in the "Project: 2483 (Run 263, Clone 14, Gen 15) no credit" thread that have never been credited and they don't give a damn about those either.

If it will make you feel better, I have been trying to up load a 6318 (r 2890,c 33, g 1) for about 2 weeks now. Never uploads. Working on a 2495 right now.

They do give a damn, i suspect that they are having a fair few problems with different servers at the moment and don't have time to post that they have problems are are working on them. As well as your issues, there seems to be major issues with some of the gpu servers and the main stanford site was taken down on thursday. Add in a new stats server, the new smp2 core the ongoing work on GPU3 and i imagine they are quite busy.

Yes, I realize that they have a number of problems to deal with, but those mostly seem to prevent data from moving back and forth properly. Once a work unit has been successfully downloaded to a client, successfully processed by that client, and successfully uploaded to a server, it wouldn't seem to be an impossible task to have that work processed in a timely manner.

Especially in the case of the 6318 work units, when multiple people tell you that the problem is the collection server, which does not appear to ever get processed, it shouldn't be all that difficult to finally process all the work units that went there to die.

In the thread about the 24xx work units, a few people have reported that some completed work units never showed up. This goes back a long time. Several times we were told that it would take "several days" to look into this and we should come back to the thread if the work units didn't show up by then. We did come back, reported that the work units never showed up, and were totally ignored. The problem was never fixed, even after several weeks (not days), and we were not even told that it never would be fixed.

It looks like my missing unit found its way home. The stats say I finished 3 units yesterday, and I know I only finished 2.
Thanks, Pande group!
