New client and cores

Post by jaak ennuste »

I've saw a post in Folding Blog concerning new cores and clients for performance folders. I see it as very very important news. Any information when will be it available for us?

thanks

He did say that hopefully SMP2 will be released in a month or two. We're probably lucky to get that much, since the Pande Group almost never announces release dates unless something has just been released.

I hope that this new GPU3 cliente brings the PPD of ATI card up.
The gap in PPD betwen ATI vs Nvidia is too big....

I also hope that the new SMP give us the same PPD in windows as in Linux. The problem was the a2 core. There will be a new core, like A3 or something?

Sorry for this great english... :?

..."or something" is probably right for both SMP2 and GPU2. Stanford doesn't disclose very much until just before launch. Watch the News page, as that is where the info will appear when available.
