Re: fah-web.stanford.edu DOWN?

Doesn't work here either. Links like Project Summary don't work, and neither does ping:

Code: Select all

$ ping fah-web.stanford.edu
PING vspm27.stanford.edu (171.65.103.94) 56(84) bytes of data.

Re: FAH on mobile devices [Not]

According to the article SETI is not doing number crunching on mobile devices, instead users scroll through images of radio signals and click if they think they see a pattern in the noise. This is using mobile devices to what they are good at, i.e. something point-and-clicky with graphics that doesn...

Re: SETI@Home Install Leads To School Tech Supervisor's Resignat

Stealing 18 computers from the workplace is obviously a crime. Although the power-and-wear costs of running a DC client on 5000 computers over 10 years is likely to be a much bigger financial loss for the school district...

Re: SETI@Home Install Leads To School Tech Supervisor's Resignat

I guess it serves as a reminder to ask permission if you want to install clients on somebody else's computers :)

Looks like the guy may even be facing criminal charges...: http://www.kpho.com/news/21778774/detail.html

Re: Is it just me or are the Stats not updating?

Yes, I got mine today. I don't have exact statistics, but it looks like I got 70-80% of the points that were lost during the stats outage.

Re: Is it just me or are the Stats not updating?

11th Nov is the anniversary of the armistice which ended the fighting of the first world war (1914-18) and is Veteran's day in the US (I assume that's the holiday that was being referred to). Today is Nov 12th, isn't it? I thought it was the one with the turkey ;) Anyway, just hoping that the resul...

Re: So done

Sorry, don't have those anymore - this was more than a week ago, the files have been overwritten long since. The screenshot is from project 2671, run 11, clone 57, gen 33 if it has any interest - the other WU was project 2671 as well. As far as I remember, the WUs completed normally and gave normal ...

So done

Recently got these stats in FahMon:
Image
The PPD was lousy, but 1.7 million percent complete must be pretty good, right?

I guess it was its way of saying "I'm so done!" :)

FahMon crashes

I am running FahMon 2.3.2b on Mac OS X (10.5.6 - Leopard), according to the FahMon download page 2.3.2b is the latest version available for Mac. FahMon runs on a Macbook laptop, the FAH clients are on the LAN - a Mac mini and an Ubuntu server w/SMB, 4 clients in total. Adding/removing clients and re...

Same here, client has tried to submit a result to ...226 and ...227 for more than 24 hours.
The ..226 log says it's been rejecting since Saturday 05:55. I guess we'll just have to wait.

Re: Electricity Efficiency & Folding..

I was kind of curious about power consumption and efficiency myself, so I actually went out and bought an energy meter. 24 hour measuring would take ages :), so I took the shortcut. But I'm fairly sure the numbers are accurate within 5-10%. PPDs from third-party websites are not very useful for this...

Re: what is the best way to view the work you have done?

You also have FahMon (http://fahmon.net/ ), a local client you can install to keep track of what is happening.

And the best statistics site (IMHO) is http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ although you need to join one of the top 800-1200 teams to show up there.
