Google’s Deepmind claims to have created an artificially intelligent program called “AlphaFold” that is able to solve those problems in a matter of days.

Re: F@H no longer "sees" nvidia quadro t2000
Thanks for the observation.
Didn't do anything, just continued to wait.
Seems to be crunching again, project 11746.
Maybe F@H really did run out of wu's for a spell . . .

Re: F@H no longer "sees" nvidia quadro t2000
Ok, thanx, paused the iGPU (intel 630), thought I had previously done so. Still waiting to see what is happening with T2000. Will wait a bit longer, and then switch to BOINC. <friends don't let friends waste gpu cycles, lol!> 22:24:27:FS01:Paused 22:25:25:Removing old file 'configs/config-20200713-1...

Re: F@H no longer "sees" nvidia quadro t2000
Was able to crunch 2 wu's on the newly reconfigured t2000. Re: F@H no longer "sees" nvidia quadro t2000
I did not add the opencl -index entry. But I just changed the value from "2" to "-1". I added a second gpu slot. Now, in addition to slot "1", there is a slot "-1". Yes, that seems to work !!! (I think, F@H web control: no wu named, 0.00 secs, 0 estimated poin...

Re: F@H no longer "sees" nvidia quadro t2000
Do not want to cpu fold. Accidentally added it when trying to see if t2000 could just be added back. Mistook "cpu" for "gpu". Will not touch gpu slot 1. Not sure I understand other directions. Is this correct? 16:13:00:Removing old file 'configs/config-20200702-084452.xml' 16:13:...

Re: F@H no longer "sees" nvidia quadro t2000
Thanks for assist! I can get as far as just before this: The client should detect GPU hardware for the Quadro T2000. Does not detect the T2000, to the best of my knowledge. *********************** Log Started 2020-07-05T10:43:44Z *********************** 10:43:44:Trying to access database... 10:43:44...

F@H no longer "sees" nvidia quadro t2000
I can only assume some sort of microsoft/dell/??? update must have changed something. Was crunching F@H for a month or so, then F@H said no w/u's. Didn't really investigate at the time, crunched gpu for some BOINC projects. Kept checking F@H, and same, no wu's. Finally looking into it, it seems that...

Re: PCIE x speeds for F@H gpu crunching
OK, so let me see if I am correctly understanding. For the sake of this example, let us assume an ASUS P9X79-E WS motherboard has an Intel X79 chipset with 48 lanes of PCIE. Let us also assume that the motherboard also has 7 PCIE slots: 4 are PCIE-x16 (electrically) and 3 are PCIE-x8 (electrically)....

Re: PCIE x speeds for F@H gpu crunching
I have a tangential question, and figured it was close enough to this thread not to warrant a new thread. What is really the maximum number of gpu's you can run off a motherboard? For this question, ignore power consumption, physical spacing, etc. Just concern ourselves with PCIE lanes. I understand...

Re: PCIE x speeds for F@H gpu crunching
Just as a follow-up / FYI. Don't know what the policy is about putting in links, so I will just note that I came across a new (June 16, yesterday) YouTube video entitled "TWO Graphics Cards in ONE Slot?!" that discusses essentially pcie bifurcation. You can search under that title or the c...

Re: Why are CPU projects worth so few points relative to GPU
Would love to find an affordable 3990x, but "rumors" are that the next gen Ryzens (4Q2020?) will be ~20% more efficient. And certainly, Ryzen/Threadripper 5nm would be a sight to behold. Don't know that I would agree that "But with high end next gen CPUs, we'll definitely see a closin...

Re: GPU: F@H & Boinc gpu projects concurrently?
Installed GPU-Z, and see that gpu load is mid- to high- 90%. So, in hindsight, with virtually no free capability, my original question is a non-start. Run F@H on the gpu and 1 of 16 cpu threads (I think the cpu thread "FahCore_22" belongs with the gpu process), and the remaining 15 threads...

GPU: F@H & Boinc gpu projects concurrently?
Hey again, back with yet another n00bish ? Using Windows Task Manager -> Performance -> GPU 1 (nvidia quadro t2000), i noticed that with different F@H projects, Copy usage would range from 1% - 48%. I don't think I've ever seen it above 50%. There are some Boinc GPU projects that I would consider do...

Re: Why are CPU projects worth so few points relative to GPU
Thank you for the responses, this is sort of where I was trying to go. @PantherX: I agree with the general statement that "CPUs can can perform a variety of complex mathematical instructions while GPUs can't achieve a similar level of complexity." But, I suppose the question remains, is th...
