Re: Client for OpenSUSE

I found an older thread -- https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=89&t=30996#p302772 -- that describes the method for getting the 7.5.1 client running on openSUSE Leap 15. It seems that the problem I'm encountering is that my libopenssl package is too new. Has anyone found a successful workaro...

Re: Client for OpenSUSE

Did you get this running? The bzip issue was only the first. There are many more that I've run into, and I'm wondering if you got any further. There were a number of missing library files, but even after making sure I installed the required version, running the client still gives this type of error:...

Changing a Team Name -- Unknown Founder

I am the only active member of my team and our organization has since changed names. I'm not sure who the originally created the team, but he is definitely inactive and likely gone from the organization. Is there a way for me to become the team owner so I can change the name, web link, etc.? Having ...

Re: SUSE VMs on Xen

You have 116 CPUs. Are those virtualized CPUs that are mapped onto a smaller number of real CPUs? If so, that's your problem. There is no value whatsoever to running FAH on any number of CPUs which cannot be dedicated to the folding process. Performance degrades first, and then the virtual machine ...

Re: SUSE VMs on Xen

Well, in posting this, I thought of a couple other ideas to try, and one of them worked. I switched the VM to a static IP address configuration (instead of dhcp) and it seems to be folding correctly now. I'm still not sure what caused the problem, but at least I have a work around. I'd welcome feedb...

Re: SUSE VMs on Xen

One more thing -- I'm suspicious that this is somehow network related since the paravirtualized network often behaves a bit differently than FV. Is there any way to debug this to find out if network binding is the issue? Maybe a higher log level?

SUSE VMs on Xen

I'm trying to get F@H 7.4.4 running in a SLE vm on top of Xen. I have found that when I install the OS in fully virtualized mode, everything works as expected. However, when I install the VM as a paravirtualized guest, the folding client successfully downloads the work unit and begins folding but ne...

Re: Problems with assignment servers?

By the way, this is happening on 8 different machines, all running the 7.4.4.1 linux client. The machines range in cpu count from 8 to 144.

Problems with assignment servers?

I have had several machines today be suddenly unable to get work assignments. Most of my machines are running the bigadv work units, but I have even tried removing that setting from the client config and I still fail to get work assignments. Here is the last part of my log: 22:04:39:WU01:FS00:0xa3:C...
