Re: No appropriate work server was available

Hi, I am also having the same problem, for about 3 hours now NAWSWA. I did shut down and reboot the whole system, modem, router, computers, problem continues. My connection has been strong and fast all along. Guess I will let it work itself out, I hope, as I am going to bed right now. Check back in ...

Re: PG announcement about Big Advanced Projects

I went to try and figure out what the new bonus points would be for a 6903. Using the only real bits of information we have been given, figure the deadlines will be cut in half, this becomes a different kind of question. Will it be both the final and preferred deadlines that will be cut in half or j...

Re: PG announcement about Big Advanced Projects

FACT: The points system is not changing. FALSE ASSUMPTION: PPD is not changing. The same points per WU and Kfactors will still apply to all projects. The same formula will be used to calculate points. Which WUs will be assigned will change, and that's nothing new. In fact, it's constantly changing....

Re: PG announcement about Big Advanced Projects

SMP folders are not average users, I think it would get around. If you don't pick you automatically get the smaller smp wu's. They have to pick smp in the first place. Would be better if the system reset all smp and bigadv to smp and we had to change back, but that probably won't happen. However, af...

Re: PG announcement about Big Advanced Projects

I see the comment "the new requirements are not about the cores, but the time limit", then why should we make people run a hack to fold them? Plus why only use the best machines to the fullest, stratify all levels to a two day completion time. To start off a hard 2 days for bonus, + 18 hou...

Re: Not sending

Well after seeing that tracer I thought it must be on the Cox cable side of things. So we went through several things, they thought it was my router so I was going to get one this morning. But I thought it was more likely the modem so I do keep a backup modem and we installed it (no backup router th...

Re: Not sending

Try the old standby debugging tool (shown in Windows format) tracert assign.stanford.edu . (That works for me.) Ok so I tired resetting my modem and router, thought the power outage might have messed up, but no still the same. So now trying Bruce's idea first as well he is the expert, doesn't look ...

Re: Not sending

Hi All, I have tried nothing just got back from work and will start looking now. Both machines are still not sending, the 6903 has now been trying to send for over 24 hours and the 6904 around 12 hours. Ok, these machines have been folding in exact same set up for a long time now, on the same settin...

Not sending

Sorry late for work now no time but to paste and run, but have two bigadv that are not sending. This one is over 14 hours in total the other is a couple of hours not sending. I did reload with verbosity 9 flag so I would have the most info. --- Opening Log file [October 15 12:36:19 UTC] # Linux SMP ...

Re: What 's up with the bigadv server(s) ?

Seems like it would seem prudent to increase the core requirement when the number of wu's available falls below a __ % of requests for an hour, 3 hours, or some other criteria, like when a known shortage has arrived. Make it so 8 cores and less get assigned smp and the remaining bigadv WU's go to 12...
