Re: On Debian 11 F@H logfile says "OpenCL Not detected . . ."
Yes, fair enough. I like this idea of adding the discussed 'feedback' feature. I appreciate the logic of this which I could see included on F@H v8. Regarding " People with recent GPUs can have a skewed sense of things. " I understand their position but, I am spending about $25 per card com...

Re: On Debian 11 F@H logfile says "OpenCL Not detected . . ."
I have been folding for many years. Until recently, folding was processed by CPUs only. If you think you need to categorize me as an "aspirational folder" then I am a proud member. Until I moved across the country in October of 2022 I had several computers inspirationally folding proteins ...

On Debian 11 F@H logfile says "OpenCL Not detected . . ."
This seems very odd to me. My log output (I added the "LOOK!!!" and arrows to draw attention to the log line): 12:39:35:******************************* libFAH ******************************** 12:39:35: Date: Oct 20 2020 12:39:35: Time: 20:36:39 12:39:35: Revision: 5ca109d295a6245e2a2f590b3...

Nvidia GTX460 not supported? Too slow. [Resolved]
I have a newer computer that I am re-building that has a Nvidia GTX460 graphic card. The CPU is folding properly. The log file shows: 12:45:01:WARNING:FS01:No CUDA or OpenCL 1.2+ support detected for GPU slot 01: gpu:-1:-1. Disabling. 12:45:01:Adding folding slot 01: gpu:-1:-1 The command "nvid...

Re: Linux (Debian) fahclient will not connect to FAHControl running on Arch Linux
I am not a Linux expert either. I am simply making a warning statement Linux users are use to seeing/hearing. Be careful with the use of 'root'.
Now, with the exception of minor grammatical edits I consider this matter closed.
Thanks.

Re: Linux (Debian) fahclient will not connect to FAHControl running on Arch Linux
This is true, calxalot. This can become a conversation that might be controversial. When I am working out configuration details while installing a program I preform my commands as 'root' user. Over the years many distros have shifted installation procedure posted instructions to use an authorized us...

Re: Linux (Debian) fahclient will not connect to FAHControl running on Arch Linux
Thank you calxalot. Your suggestions helped but, I am still stuck. I have multiple headless machines running fahclient. I have sorted and created a list (for me and future readers) the proper sequence to manually change the 'config.xml' file on a client. That being (again, for me and future readers)...

Re: Linux (Debian) fahclient will not connect to FAHControl running on Arch Linux
Do the commands in https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?t=37513 apply to all fahclients running on any OS's? I ask because I cannot find a "/usr/libexec/PlistBuddy" (a Windows directory I think). I am unable to find any linux directory location that contains any files referenced. Now to ...

Linux (Debian) fahclient will not connect to FAHControl running on Arch Linux
I have been folding with FAH for years with WU running on CPU slots viewing the web page at [ip address]:7396/ to check progress, etc. These clients run headless without my interference. I am venturing into adding GPU slot folding but, first I have to get my Debian OS (headless) client to connect to...

Re: getting a passskey replacement
I got this 20 digit passkey years ago. I think, if I remember correctly it was for v6. Okay, so my bad, the form at https://apps.foldingathome.org/getpasskey asks for "Name" and "Email" so I set my "Name" as my actual name and now I read that it should have been my user...
