Re: We Lost One of F@H's Greatest Champions - Gordon Smithem

Donated. With all the money I put into folding rigs, this is the least I can do for this worthy cause.

Thanks FT and Michael McCord for getting this going. Gordon was a great guy, and thanks to Dr Pande for stepping up.

Re: 130.237.232.237

Several people on my team are having issues with this server as I write this (viewed this thread to see if there was a resolution)...I have linked to this thread encouraging those with issues to post their log files, etc.

Re: Stanford Network Issue

I'm getting questions about the possibility of points being lost due to this outage. I understand that work is still being sent and recieved. I have been encouraging folks to continue folding as normal. I know the politically-correct and scientifically-correct thing to do is to keep folding, but kee...

Re: PG announcement about Big Advanced Projects

I think the main issue here is a marketing one. I don't blame PG for wanting to change the hardware requirements for certain types of science. They had a couple of basic choices; 1. make changes that will reduce the PPD available to certain people (ie. the bigadv folders), or 2. they could have incr...

Re: PG announcement about Big Advanced Projects

Sigh. Some heavy hitters and big-time contributers on my team (not just PPD contributers, but valuable advice and mentoring) are mulling their options. Hopefully it blows over and folks see the bigger picture but I get the feeling we will be losing some serious hardware from our team that will get r...

Re: What is going on with BIGADV?

I too get frustrated when I look at my dedicated i7 920 (4.0GHZ) folding regular smp units, but I have to remind myself that it was, and still is, a beta program. The risk was mine, by setting up a rig that depends on a beta program continuing on in its current format. Not trying to minimize your co...

Re: 171.67.108.22:8080 => Error: Bad packet type from server...

Should typing in 171.67.108.22:8080 get the response message "OK"? When I do it my browser downloads a 'part' file instead.

Project: 5913 on two GPUs [Yes. it's OK]

Project: 5913 on two of my GPUs right now.[That's OK]

Any idea why this happened? GPUs fold fine normally, and I have not messed with the rig in ages.

Re: GPU server status 171.67.108.21, 171.64.65.71,171.67.108.26

ok, thanks. Joe and I have been working to track this down. Could people confirm the following: - the problems are only seen in one server: 171.67.108.21 - the problems are only seen with configs with multiple GPUs in a single box If either of the above aren't true for you, could you please post he...

Re: GPU server status 171.67.108.21, 171.64.65.71,171.67.108.26

I can throw my hat into the group with single GPU rigs that could not upload. How can someone go into their logs and provide proof of completed WUs? I can find 23 instances of "Server has already received unit." in the main Fahlog.txt files of my three WUs. I would hate to have donated my ...

Re: GPU server status 171.67.108.21, 171.64.65.71,171.67.108.26

Thanks Dr. Pande. Can you confirm that the "Server has already received unit" problem means that our WUs were accepted by the server and not wasted? From our end it looks like the server rejects our work, and our WU gets wasted.

All my clients folding now. Time to wait and see if we get credit for them.

I am sure that we will get credit for all completed work and the stats are all just backlogged. The only thing that troubles me is the lack of info. I will be watching my points closely.

Re: GPU server status 171.67.108.21, 171.64.65.71,171.67.108.26

Gotten worse for me. All three down without work, and all three clients report that the server told them that the results were already received by the server.
