Re: Often can't get SMP WU's

Are all the mac OS X units on one server? To say I tried it, I removed the -smp 2 flag and tried doing uniprocessor mode. AS still pointed me to nowhere :( can't find appropriate work etc. the idea was that I could at least run in uniprocessor mode and contribute that way. At this point I'm betting ...

Re: Often can't get SMP WU's

I'm having similar issues (mac client)but, it seems like the AS is routing to stuff with no WU's on it. And or switching to the 'no appropriate work units' thing. Kinda wondering what's going on. I haven't checked my PS3 client yet. I've got two WU's on an i7 system that can't be uploaded either. yo...

Re: 171.67.108.25 Standby

I'm having similar problems. The one server is down so it switches to this one as a backup, but it's not working either. Meanwhile I can't connect to anything that has work units, I'm running the OS X 6 client(yeah kind of off topic). The AS going wonky?

Re: 171.64.65.54 - Reject [Emergency downtime]

mmmmmk.....that would explain what I'm seeing too. Why does the AS keep pointing it though for downloads?

Re: Responses To A Decade of F@H!

I've been folding roughly since version 4.0 of the client, I'm not sure if it was before or after I got a first generation Apple G5 system. It was after seti@home ran out of gas, they said it would take two years, I participated for two years, they found nothing, I beta tested the mac client on that...

Re: Various Project: 601x problems

I'm having similar issues as Ardvark, posted in another thread before finding this one. Something I just noticed/remembered. I *think* I have only been able to trip this bug when I resume the work unit after a cold system boot. Going to leave it on straight until the current unit finishes and see wh...

Re: project 2681 = 25403 point

Other question to ask. Can the current SMP client or upcoming one handle scaling to 16 cores? Assuming there is a northbridge that can take that level of a pounding etc...(That's ALOT of data).

Re: project 2681 = 25403 point

Wow. That is a NICE mobo.....and I'm pretty sure it's not consumer level. Which makes me want to ask, is it a Tyan? What northbridge are you running? The RAM slot positions are somewhat a give away :) you don't play Solitaire on something like that ;)

Re: project 2681 = 25403 point

Those units look insane. According to the math, 265 points an hour. I'm going to guess a half gig of RAM per thread, maybe more. If they're pushing the hardware as hard as I think, it's worth the points :> The only thing I can think of that would run these is stuff in a film/animation studio or hook...

Folding@Home and stem cell research

Couldn't find this anywhere so I'm posting. Does Folding@Home work at all with stem cell research? I"m thinking it does indirectly. Wondering if anyone can post on it being directly involved or not? Or to what detail its involvement is. And yes proposal 2 is currently idioticaly controversial i...

old password and user name ported?

Hello. I originally had difficulty registering, it let me and then the activation email never arrived. I do distinctly remember it being stated we'd have to reregister etc... I just logged in with my old user name and password(from the old 'pre google' forum). It worked and I'm not really sure how o...
