Re: v7.6.20 MacOS FAHControl doesn't work
After casually browsing for a couple of days, I've noted a not insubstantial amount of threads/posts about installation issues for FAHControl under Linux and MacOS. I believe this is all due to the sunset of Python2 earlier this year ( https://www.python.org/doc/sunset-python-2/ ) and consequently m...

Re: Size of position doesn't match topology?
Ah okay cool - thanks for that info. I was worrying that it might be something bigger than that but just wanted to check.
The next WU came down and is happily folding away on the GPU without any warnings or issues now.

Size of position doesn't match topology?
So I recently purchased an RTX2060 and have been okay folding a few WUs on it under Linux Mint 19.1 with the 418.xx drivers - I was away from home from Wednesday evening of last week and today I booted up and ran an Nvidia update from the PPA along with the general other OS updates. I started a WU a...

Re: Failing to get WU today work server refuses [171.67.108.
I actually bailed and gave up on F@H back in 2009 because under the old client (V6) I had about a week's worth of WUs that wouldn't upload at one point, and it was starting to over-write slots. I basically left feeling 'what's the point?' back then because I figured I'd done the work but it was irre...

Re: Failing to get WU today work server refuses
Just checked and a large WU (over 50000 points) has started so was only a temporary problem for me. Not if it isn't accepting uploads for completed WUs 20:41:05:WU01:FS00:FahCore returned: FINISHED_UNIT (100 = 0x64) 20:41:05:WU01:FS00:Sending unit results: id:01 state:SEND error:NO_ERROR project:94...

Re: 155.247.166.219 & 155.247.166.220 are now hosed [Not Now
A little over 24 hours later and someone must have kicked it in to touch a little, as this is more in line with what I would usually be expecting! Similar filesize upload to the same server just now from the same desktop on the same connection. 20:00:39:WU02:FS01:0xa7:Folding@home Core Shutdown: FIN...

Re: 155.247.166.219 & 155.247.166.220 are now hosed [Not Now
Is anyone else having slow upload to these servers again? I'm on a 80Mbit down/20Mbit up VDSL2+ in the UK and usually don't have any issues with F@h speeds, but it's just taken me nearly 15 minutes to upload a 1.77Megabyte WU return which I thought was being a bit too slow. I'd expect it to go up in...

Re: Had to dump a WU - will I be penalised?
When you have a.single GPU, the -1 (auto) setting for the CPU is (N-1). Adjusting the slider does change the meaning of -1 to lower values. I was always aware that for GPU folding, there needs to be a percentage of CPU taken in order to control the workflow being sent to the GPU. On my old C2D (no ...

Re: Had to dump a WU - will I be penalised?
If more than 20% of your Work Units do not complete successfully, you will not get the Quick Return Bonus. If you delete the slot, and then recreate it, the server is told you abandoned the WU. This speeds up F@H. Thanks for that, that was the main part of my question. Figure that I did the right t...

Re: Had to dump a WU - will I be penalised?
Thanks for that, I'll give it a try. I thought that might limit me further though as I may then be assigned more WU's for single-thread based on size and figured that'd be a waste as I have an SMP capable processor(?) Internet bandwidth isn't an issue for me really. I've already set next-unit-percen...

Re: Just Signed Up, How To Fold?
You may need to adjust the folding power slider, or manually un-pause your slot. What's your current setting for the power slider (Light, medium, full etc.?) This setting evaluates what percentage of time to give to Folding depending upon your usage of the machine for other tasks and duties. Drag th...

Had to dump a WU - will I be penalised?
So I hope this isn't a stupid question, but maybe someone could clarify this for me please. I'm not new to folding, but have returned after a long stint away from the project (last folded back in 2009) and what with the changes (think I was perhaps on V5 or 6 prior) I figure this is probably the bes...
