That ain't an option, the only reason it was still kept around (thrown under a rack of files) is because they do not know if the have any useful files on the second HDD.
They didn't even care that I said, that I'll take it home for a few days.

Maybe I'll try to salvage some more RAM from another work PC XD. I tried running the latest edition of UBUNTU but I immediately got an error [ kernel bug or something of that sorts] and I have no experience with LINUX.

Yeah, [it's a work PC] the HDD came with an 32bit installation of Windows 7. I downloaded the latest 32bit drivers from Nvidias site. I was hoping to avoid a fresh install of Windows, but is it your opinion that that is the only way forward?

Re: Windows 11 is coming soon.
I installed W11 on my second machine. Its only a Ryzen 3 2200g with Vega 8 graphics, but my first synthetic benchmarks show no difference in performance[Cinebench and Superposition]. The rumours seem to be wrong, who would have guessed. The whole experience though is definitely worse. Can't ev...

Re: Windows 11 is coming soon.
I have a copy, and hope to set up a an 8 core Bulldozer based PC with an older GPU within the next week. If everything works as expected, I'll let you know if it works how good it is (I'll set up W10 first, so I can compare output of similar projects between the two) Looking forward to your finding...

Re: Windows 11 is coming soon.
Since it seems to be very easy to install Windows 11 after all, has anyone tried it yet? Does F@h work in W11?

Re: Windows 11 is coming soon.
Shadows of the tomb raider displays the leaked W11 as a W10 build. Apart from that, gaming performance seems to be 2-3% better, but that could be due to the lack of telemetry and other such features on the leaked build.

80K on a Vega 8? Wow, i must have been doing something very wrong on my 2200g, cause that number sounds extremely high compared to my cpu. Jesus, ill have to retest the Ryzen 3 2200g one of these days.

Re: New WU behaving strangely after GPU swap
Take my advice with a lot of grains of salt, since I'm not familiar with the issue, but, if i were you, i would DDU both drivers (current Nvidia and the past AMD drivers for the card that is no longer in use) and then i would reinstall both latest drivers for the 660 and 1050.

Re: Does the CPU affect the speed of the GPU?
From the link below, the best CPU upgrade would be a Core i7-2715QE. Refurbished versions can be found for $50 to $70 online. Second best would be the Core i7-2620M, sold for $50 on ebay. List of compatible CPUs: https://www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/ ... e/847.html It's a cheap upgrade that will ...

Re: probability of GPU being phased out
Prices are kind of high. The 2060 being at the bottom of the list for me. But it'll fold decently for the next 4 years or so! If it wasn't for the GPU shortage of the past 3 to 4 years (mainly miners, I'd say, but now also chip shortage), I would have recommended an RTX 3000 series GPU. Both Nvidia...
