Re: UNKNOWN RESEARCH

Thanks and sorry for the late reply - I did not notice your respose.
PRCG: 18202,15969,0,16
I'm just now running an Alzheimers Research work unit under project 18202, which is a bit reassuring.

UNKNOWN RESEARCH

I just noticed a work unit labelled as UNKNOWN RESEARCH was just completing.
Does anyone know what that was and why a project would have no name?
Performance seemed about average.

Re: Alder Lake results

Apologies. I think we can assume all is well. I just took the web client as being definitive and probably indicating failure. According to the logs both of the runs runs I have done started (searched all of them for DOWNLOAD error:NO_ERROR") and completed successfully (see below). The logged up...

Alder Lake results

I've just run a quick test with folding for Alzheimer's. CPU 12900K, Memory 4X8Gb DDR4 3200 MHz, On die graphics only, MSI Z690 Edge WiFi DDR4, 850W PSU (OK this is overkill), Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240 cooler. Out of the box, the 12900K with Windows 10 seemed unwilling to use p cores for folding....

Re: Dealing with big.LITTLE

Thank you very much for the tip on using Lasso Out of the box, the Intel 12900K with Windows 10 seemed unwilling to use p cores for folding. Quickly installed the free version of Lasso and got it folding with all p-cores (no e cores) in 10 minutes. The Windows 10 result is not surprising because, as...

Re: Is extremeoverclocking.com off line?

Same here. No doubt that it is offline still.
It has the best monitoring for folding activity. I don't know how else to get the history and other info in one place.
Is the Donor folding history saved anywhere else?

Re: No GPU WU, shortage or other cause?

I'm getting GPU work now - thanks to everyone who mitigated or fixed the problem. I wonder if it would be possible to have a fixed location for general announcements on the server, project and WU status. A report on the issues and expected time to fix would allow people to switch off the machines wh...

Re: No GPU WU, shortage or other cause?

Same here on both my GPU based folding machines for COVID-19 which have run almost non stop for a month. They stopped getting WUs early yesterday morning (before 7 am UK time) so after a while I decided to leave both machines off all day. Restarted them earlier this morning but no COVID-19 WUs so fa...

Re: Low GPU utilisation

Thanks for the advice - sorry it's a bit late!
It's doing around 4M ppd. and have stopped worrying about the variations.
Thanks again

Low GPU utilisation

Hi. Has anyone else found that on some, at least, of the COVID-19 work units the PPD has become quite erratic? I've always seen about 4-4.5M ppd (NVIDIA 2080Ti) but now it is below 4M and the GPU utilisation is, currently, about 80% with GPU-Z and Afterburner. Clock speed is normal at about 1900MHz....

Re: Quadro 4000

Ooooh ok. Well that's too bad! But I've another system with a 1050ti in, that only does 2D work, maybe I could put one of these old 4000's in that and swipe the 1050ti for folding. Really useful to have the link to that driver! I'll try it tomorrow. I couldn't find a driver anywhere. ... Shame abou...

Re: Unusually low PPD on project 16927?

Thanks for the response, Bruce. As you will see from my update there are unexpected (to me anyway) errors in the log file. I've stopped using the CPU for now so I've just put in as much information as I can in case anyone finds it useful. Answers below: Yes, WUs from p169xx are highly variable but t...

Re: Unusually low PPD on project 16927?

Update following my original report (below) I've stopped using the CPU now anyway so I'm leaving this here just in case it's useful. Summary (following the original report in which the thread count seemed to be ignored for project 16927 (7, 1513, 27)): 1. When the PC was rebooted the number of cores...
